Found myself saying the following sentence today: “I was too dumb back then. Today’s youth is much more mature in their thinking”.
“Today’s youth”?!? Man, I’m getting old!
Other (definite) possible signs of my aging:
- I spend more time online researching on topics such as life insurance, health & money management.
- Sedans look cooler than hatchbacks or coupés.
- My knowledge about my family relatives has gone up significantly (from near zero) in the past couple of years.
- Wedding invitation cards seem to come addressed to me rather than my dad.
- Newspaper is the first thing I look for in the mornings.
- Usernames such as ‘hotduuuude’, ‘handsomehunk’, ‘sweetsixteen’ makes me wanna vomit.
- And… every darn unknown younger $*^*&*% seem to address me as “UNCLE!”
AAAAAAARG!
hahahahha… I was thinking the same things the other day!!
Sigh! And it comes without warning. Here’s to the good old times
Cheers!
Usernames such as ‘hotduuuude’, ‘handsomehunk’, ‘sweetsixteen’ makes me wanna vomit.
that’s how i’ve been feeling about my lj username for some time now
I like ‘crabbycool’ to be honest. It’s not cheesy or teenagish or anything compared to the ones I’ve mentioned. In fact, I prefer crabbycool to cactina. I don’t know – maybe I’m used to crabbycool
Contrary to all the postings above, I guess we should not be too thoughtful about age and/or get saddened about it. According to me, age is nothing. I believe its not age that defines us. Its the thoughts that define us. So long as our thoughts are honest and young, I feel we don’t need to be sad/give a thought about our age.
but yeah the post is a funny take on the age aspect. Esp., “My knowledge about my family relatives has gone up significantly (from near zero) in the past couple of years”. ha..ha..
